What Is an API?
An API (Application Programming Interface) is a way for two systems to “talk” to each other.
In affiliate marketing, it’s the digital pipeline that connects your landing page directly to Affiliate.co.za’s Lead Management System (LMS).
When someone fills in a form on your page, the API instantly passes their details into our system — where they’re tracked, verified, and delivered to the advertiser.
A Simple Example
Imagine a customer fills out a car insurance form on your landing page:
- Without an API → The lead data just sits there until you upload it manually
- With an API → The moment the user clicks Submit, their info is automatically posted into Affiliate.co.za’s LMS
This means:
- No lost leads
- Faster processing
- Quicker payments for you
Why Affiliates Use APIs
- Speed → Leads are received in real time
- Accuracy → Required fields (name, phone, email, etc.) are passed correctly
- Efficiency → No manual uploads or spreadsheets
- Control → Build and design your own landing pages while still plugging into our system
Affiliate.co.za does not accept manually submitted leads. Only API submissions are valid.
The Affiliate.co.za API Advantage
- API-ready pages → Most of our landing pages are already API-compliant
- Integration guides → If you build your own page, we provide a step-by-step guide showing which fields are required
- Relevant fields only → The API captures just the data we need, keeping leads clean, compliant, and billable
Don’t Forget: Test First
Before going live, always submit a test lead to confirm:
- Your landing page is correctly connected to our LMS
- All required fields are being passed
- Leads are being accepted and tracked
Once your Account Manager confirms the test lead was successful, you’re ready to start sending live traffic.
Testing protects you from lost leads, rejected submissions, and wasted ad spend. Always do it.
